Dinkademics

Wynn Johnson grew up in Southport, North Carolina — a small beach town where sports weren't just something to do, they were pretty much the only thing to do. That upbringing gave him a competitive foundation and a genuine love for athletic development that has followed him everywhere since.

His career took a few interesting turns before landing where it was always headed. A background in Tennis Management, years spent coaching inside the country club world, and a natural obsession with what separates good players from great ones eventually led him to pickleball — a sport he fell in love with and built a business around. He founded The Dinkery, one of Charlotte's earliest dedicated pickleball clubs, before selling it to Tipsy Pickle.

Dinkademics is the culmination of everything Wynn has learned about what real player development looks like. Named Charlotte's 2025 Coach of the Year, he operates out of Peak Time Pickleball alongside facility partner Michael Wang, working with everyone from competitive club players to PPA touring professionals. The program — built around on-court coaching, pro camps, and a growing online community — exists for one reason: to help serious players actually get better.

Away from the court, Wynn lives an active life with his wife Megan and their dog Bella. Good food, the outdoors, and good people — not much has changed since Southport.
